Ripley’s Haunted Adventure is no exception with the location right on the main Gatlinburg strip.

As the name implies, this is a haunted adventure! It is a walk-through experience and is like a year-round haunted house.

In some of the other posts for Ripley’s attractions, we would recommend getting a combo ticket on their website. If you prefer to not take the aerial tram, you can also drive up to the theme park. However, note that there is a parking fee charged.

Ober Mountain has both indoor and outdoor activities when you get to the top of the mountain. The main indoor attraction is the ice skating rink. There are some restaurants and shops also inside along with a small merry-go-round.

Outside is where the majority of the action is at. There is a wildlife habitat which has black bears and penguins! Ober Mountain also has a mountain coaster, zip lines, a rock climbing wall, bobsleds, a family snow zone, and more. The main draw is the ski slopes and the snow tubing.

Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies

Ripley’s has a number of attractions in the Gatlinburg area. The one most synonymous with Gatlinburg is the Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies.

The aquarium is a “must do” activity if you’ve never been. The detail and the interactive areas of the aquarium are a great attraction in the area.

The aquarium offers an underground/glass viewing area of sharks (shark lagoon), penguin playhouse, stingray bay, a kids playground, and more.

Upgrade options are also available which include stingray encounters, sleep with the sharks, glass bottom boat adventures, and more.

Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokes does have a parking garage available, but it fills up very quickly since this is a popular attraction. If you are coming from Gatlinburg Landing, we would recommend parking at one of the “Park and Go” places and take the trolley. The trolley has a stop just outside the aquarium.

Be sure to check out the Ripley’s site. We would recommend getting one of their combo tickets. It includes the aquarium as the “required” option and different combo tickets allow you to explore a number of other Ripley’s attractions in the area.
