Pigeon Forge Distilleries & Wineries

Tennessee Mountain View Winery is a small, family-owned winery out in the “Wears Valley” area of the Smoky Mountains. Wears Valley is a lesser-known area of the area and not as crowded or filled with activities.

However, we found this great winery by visiting Groupon. We got a great deal on a wine tasting for two with a cheese/charcuterie tray – and it included a wine glass for each of us to take home too!

The owners were very personable and we had a great experience with trying a variety of their wines. They also do have a small shop with crafted, specialty cheeses. The cheese was so good – that we typically make the 15-20 minute drive from Pigeon Forge to get a few blocks of cheese when we visit the area.

Tennessee Mountain View Winery also has a number of activities/events each year. They have a large back lawn and will entertain picnics and small parties. Buy a bottle of wine and enjoy it on the covered deck with the mountain view!

Ole Smoky has three locations in the area. There are two locations in Gatlinburg – “The Barrelhouse” and “The Holler“.

This location is called “The Barn” and it is located within the well-known shopping area called The Island. This area has dozens of shops, eateries, and restaurants along with a few hotels.

Just like the other Ole Smoky location, they offer samplings of their moonshine flavors at this location. They have two options for sampling with two different price points – depending if you want the “regular” tastings or the “premium” tastings which is a combination of the regular and a few additional options.

We have personally never been to Currahee Winery – because there are just so many different winery and distillery places in the Smoky Mountains.

Currahee Winery is located within the “Mountain Mile” in Pigeon Forge on Teaster Ln. Currahee Winery is a family-owned establishment. They originated from Georgia and wanted to bring their wines to the Smoky Mountains.

Currahee Winery offers hand-crafted Vinifera, Muscadine, and fruit-flavored wines from their vineyard in Toccoa, GA.

The Old Forge Distillery is located in the “Old Mill District” of Pigeon Forge. This is a small little shopping area and the picturesque wheel on the river that many tourists take a picture of.

Old Forge Distillery offers tastings of their craft spirits. They have a variety of moonshines in addition to gin, cream liqueurs, bourbon whiskey, and more.

Something different about Old Forge Distillery – they let you choose what you want to sample! Many places will have a pre-chosen list of samples for the day. But at Old Forge – you can choose ten samples out of their 27 flavors of moonshine. Premium tastings are available for a cost which would include their Harvest Gin and Blended Bourbon Whiskey.

Tennessee Shine Company has two locations in the area – one is in Gatlinburg and there is also this location in Pigeon Forge.

Tennessee Shine Company offers several varieties of moonshine tastings. They have typical varieties that the other places have in addition to some of their own like moon pie, keylime cream, and more.
