Toy Box Mini Golf

Well – it is mini golf. There are a lot of mini golf offerings in the Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg area. Question is – what kind of theming would you like?

Toy Box Mini Golf is all about – toys. The theming around all of the 18 holes are showing some of the nostalgic fun. You will see the rubix cube, Jenga, dice and Sorry! game pieces in full size – and much more.

Mini golf establishments are popular because they encourage friendly competition within the group. They also are open to a wide range of tourists from a few years old up to.. well, no age!

We like discounts – and Toy Box Mini Golf offers them! Check out their website – they have a “Park Hopper Pass” that includes other attractions. The more you bundle together, the more you save on the entirety of that park hopper pass.

Smoky Mountain Alpine Coaster

The Smoky Mountain Alpine Coaster is on the way from Pigeon Forge to Wears Valley – to the west of Pigeon Forge.

In full disclosure – as of 2026, this is the only alpine mountain coaster we’ve experienced – other than the one that is at Ober Gatlinburg.

Why? Well – Groupon! The Smoky Mountain Alpine Coaster almost always has a Groupon available for two rides on this coaster for roughly $20. The typical cost for most alpine coasters in the area is $20 per ride – and they may discount the second ride. So – two rides for the price of one by using their deal.

The Smoky Mountain Alpine Coaster has a large parking lot with plenty of room. Something to keep in mind though – this is a popular coaster and can take 45 minutes to wait in line for your turn. That is from our experience when we typically visit in early March during Spring Break.

This is a great mountain coaster with several loops. Riders control the speed as they descend the mountain – although you shouldn’t fully stop. The track does have safety built in place that will ensure all carts stay a certain distance from each other. Otherwise, the cart will stop on it’s own.

Cooter’s Place & Museum

Cooter’s Place – at one point – was on the main strip in Gatlinburg. Cooter’s place was actually one of the first places we ever visited when it was still in Gatlinburg – which now has been taken over by the Ripley’s Super Fun Zone.

This is a great FREE activity to do while in the Pigeon Forge area. It will bring you back to simpler times with the famous car seen in The Dukes of Hazzard movie.

This museum showcases authentic memorabilia from the movie – even including some of the original costumes, props, and furniture.

There is a store inside Cooter’s Place to pick up a t-shirt or hat. There are also collectibles from the movie.

Step inside and also take a photo op with “General Lee”. No, that isn’t a person – it is the well-known orange car in the movie. Visitors can sit inside the car and get a picture!

Historic Old Mill

The Historic Old Mill in Pigeon Forge is one of those “village” type environments that visitors enjoy. It is known for the mill wheel on the river – where many vacationers will go to get pictures.

So – what is there to do? Well – there are a few restaurants including The Old Mill Restaurant, Pottery House Cafe, and The Old Mill Creamery.

What about the shops available? There is no shortage of those including a general store, the Pigeon River Pottery, and a candy store.

Many visitors also like to go to the Old Forge Distillery to try some of their spirits and drinks.

There area is walkable with plenty of parking to spend some time in the area.

Ripley’s Illusion Lab

When we visited the area in 2026 for our annual spring break, we visited the newest Ripley’s attraction in the area – the Ripley’s Illusion Lab.

In other posts in the Gatlinburg section for the Ripley’s attractions, we mention getting the combo passes. On their website, you get a better deal by purchasing a combo ticket if you plan to do a few of their activities. All of the combo passes include the Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies – then venture out from there with different options for you to choose from.

The Ripley’s Illusion Lab is one of those options. This seemingly is a smaller offering but still packed with exhibits and interactive things to do.

Overall, we spent around 45 minutes at the location exploring the various items they had available. The attraction has many picture opportunities with backdrops that will make you do a double-take.

Lost Mine Mountain Coaster & Mini Golf

One stop – two activities at Lost Mine Mountain Coaster & Mini Golf!

This location is right off Teaster Ln to the north of The Island.

One thing that stands out about their mountain coaster – it is themed like a mine train. Just like at some of the theme parks, there are buildings and western-like scenery on your mountain coaster ride. The mountain coaster also offers some sights of the Pigeon Forge area as you control the speed of descent.

After enjoying a ride on the coaster – or before the coaster – go through a round of their mini golf! There is no shortage of mini golf establishments in the area – because it is a great activity for small kids up to adults.

Lost Mine Mountain Coaster & Mini Golf does offer a discount on pricing if you choose to do both activities.

Rocky Top Mountain Coaster

The Rocky Top Mountain Coaster is a coaster that is close to Dollywood on Veterans Blvd. They note that they are the longest mountain coaster in the state of Tennessee.

Rocky Top Mountain Coaster also offers some additional discounts on their website to check out. One of them is a second ride on the coaster for half price. They also have a combination pass that includes rides at a few other local attractions. Bundle and save!

Well.. it is a mountain coaster. There are several in this area and they all have different layouts – but otherwise I consider them all to be the same type of experience. Ride at night to see all of the lights on the tracks.

Each mountain coaster has a different view it offers.

Pigeon Forge Gem Mine

The Pigeon Forge Gem Mine is right next to one of the most well-known souvenir shops in Pigeon Forge – Three Bears General Store.

Whether you go to Pigeon Forge Gem Mine first – or Three Bears, both will give you some “retail therapy” in the same parking lot.

There are several gem mine establishments in the area – the Pigeon Forge Gem Mine is similar to the others. They offer different buckets of sand that you purchase – and then sift through to uncover the gems! However, Pigeon Forge Gem Mine stands out a bit – with an option to choose a bucket to mine fossils.

There are many other rocks, gems, and crystals available for purchase at the store.

Skyland Ranch

Skyland Ranch opened in November of 2022 and it is on the northern end of Pigeon Forge – with a Sevierville address.

Sometimes, there are Groupon options available to save some money on your visit to this locally owned attraction.

Like many other attractions in the area, Skyland Ranch has a scenic chairlift that takes you to the top to enjoy the main park area. The park also boasts a mountain coaster called The Wild Stallion along with a swinging tower ride – the Wagonwheeler Swinging Tower.

Miniature animal encounters are part of the day along with some trails and scenic overlook decks. Gem mining, occasional live entertainment, a bakery, an outdoor grill/restaurant, and more all await for you at Skyland Ranch.
